Inniskillin Gold 2017 Bottling Note

A vintage 2017 icewine from Inniskillin over in Canada made from the Vidal grape, which is a hybrid of Ugni Blanc and Seibel varietals. Grapes are harvested when frozen completely solid, and in Inniskillin's case not when temperatures are above -10°C. Grapes are pressed immediately, while their water content is frozen in crystals making for a more concentrated liquid, and is then fermented in French oak barrels. A very cool and delicious dessert wine.

Initial vibrant citrus, followed by sweeter apricot jam and fruity peach notes, with a hint of spice.
